A 235.16ct rough diamond was discovered by a business unit of Alrosa, the Aikhal Mining and Concentration Mill, in Russia, reports say.
The diamond is described to be of gem-quality, transparent, with a yellow hue and having small graphite-sulfide inclusions along the periphery. Its size is 42 mm by 26 mm by 28 mm.
The stone discovered in September is valued at an estimate of $1.5 million to $2 million, reports say. The mining company noted that its recent technological advancements made at the production facility have contributed to less breakage of exceptionally large stones and improved recoveries, reports say.
