World’s Largest D colour Flawless diamond was auctioned today for a record $30.6million
$30.6 million was the record selling price today at Sotheby’s in Hong Kong, for the world’s largest, 118 carat, oval shaped, D color, Flawless diamond.
The stone was discovered in 2011 as a 299-carat rough diamond in a southern African country whose name Sotheby’s declined to disclose.
The previous record for any white diamond was $26.7 million. That pear-shaped stone was over 101 carats. It was sold at Christie’s in Geneva last spring.
